    MS Dhoni’s Reunion With Chennai Super Kings In Doubt

    The fans of Chennai Super Kings’ franchise wants former Indian captain Ms Dhoni and talented left-hander Suresh Raina to play for Chennai Super Kings in the next season of Indian Premier Leagu (IPL). The Chennai Super Kings’ hopes to retain both Ms Dhoni and Suresh Raina for the next IPL season. But, one of the IPL franchises raised the question over the possibility of allowing the Chennai to retain players following the two year ban.

    The IPL Governing Council held the meeting at Mumbai on November 21. The three franchise owners did not support the players retention policy while other team owners wants the player retention policy. As per the reports, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals wanted to retain the players from the 2015 squad, but one of the team authorities to explan how that could be allowed.

    The teams like Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals did not support the players retention policy. Mumbai Indians wanted to retain 5 to 6 players, Chennai Super Kings wanted 4, Delhi Daredevils wanted 3, Royal Challengers Bangalore wanted 5 while Sunrisers Hyderabad wanted 1 to retain for the next season of Indian Premier League.

    The two IPL teams wanted the IPL Auction 2018 to be held in England but other team owners ignored this. After this meeting, the IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla had a talk with reporters.

    “There were number of issues including number of players, salary cap of the players , the playing squad, and the total number of teams – all these issues were discussed other than the venue for auction and the dates of auction and the inaugural ceremony, all these things had been discussed at length,” the IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla said.

    “Right now I can’t say anything, because once we take the decision about retention and right to match after then I can tell you. The decision will be taken depending upon the players as well as what the teams agree on,” Shukla said.
