Rajinikanth Earlier Life & Family
Shivaji Rao Gaekwad was born on 12 December 1950 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India in a Marathi based Hindu family. He belongs to caste of Gaikwads or Gaekwads are a Hindu Maratha clan of Maharashtra. His parents, Ramoji Rao Gaekwad (father) is a police constable and mother was a housewife. He belongs to Kshatriya maratha caste. (wiki)
Rajiniknath has two brothers Satyanarayana Rao and Nageshwara Rao and a elder sister Aswath Balubhai. Completed his schooling in Bangalore, he has worked in various places to survive and finally ended up in Bangalore Transport Service (BTS) as a bus conductor.
Opted out from Bangalore, Rajini joined Madras Film Institute which offered acting courses in Chennai in earlier 90s. He was being married to Latha Rangachari in 1981, ceremony took place in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. He has two daughters Aishwarya Dhanush and Soundarya Rajinikanth. Popular tamil actor Dhanush is son-in-law of Superstar Rajini.

Before entering into cinema, Rajinikanth worked as ticket collector in Bangalore Transport Service.
He joined Madras Film Institute in 1973 to learn acting and grabbed an oppurtunity to feature in K. Balachandar’s ‘Apporva Ragangal’ in 1975 as antogonist. The film lead by Kamal Haasan.
In earlier he used to act in antagonist role and later started feature in lead role as Hero. Featured in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages.
After established as star actor, Rajiniknath owns huge stardom for his films. He atmost succeed with each movies with minimum guarantee collection at box office. His films like Billa set all time hits of tamil cinema.
In 1990’s, Superstar made himself as commercial entertainer of Indian cinema. His every release create new hight in collection of tamil cinema. Movies like Baashha, Muthu, Padayappa set new record in box office.
In 2007, His film Sivaji is release which is directed by Shankar. Rajini is paid ₹26 crore for his role which is highest remuneration for an indian actor at that time. And second highest paid salary for an actor in Asia after Jackie Chan.
His Second collaboration with Shankar, Enthiran (2010) has set all time blockbuster collection for an South Indian movie in box office with collection over 200 crores. And his Kabali (2016) has surpassed all time movies collection and become highest grosser, directed by Pa. Ranjith.
