Just a few weeks ago, Australian Speed star Michell Johnson was linked to reports of not being part of the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) season. But, now its confirmed that Mitchell Johnson is all set to play for Perth Scorchers in the upcoming BBL season.
Johnson has 313 Test wickets in 73 matches for Australia and he has signed an agreement with Western Australian Cricket chiefs on Tuesday
In an interview session with Fox Sports, Mitchell Johnson expressed his delight to working with Scorchers team in the forthcoming BBL season “I’m probably going to sign with the Scorchers, I’m here at the WACA today and I’ll speak to JL (Scorchers coach Justin Langer) and the WACA staff and go from there,” Johnson said. “But it probably looks like I’ll play for the Scorchers at this point in time.”

Johnson joins a powerful Scorchers pace-bowling battery that includes Australian limited-overs players Nathan Coulter-Nile, Joel Paris, Jason Behrendorff and Andrew Tye.
Due to injury and international commitments, Johnson has never played in the BBL. “I haven’t played (in) the Big Bash yet in my whole career, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and having a crack,” Johnson said.
