Kevin Pietersen ruled out of cricket till November due to calf injury.
On March 22, RPSG faced Royal Challengers Bangalore and RCB asked them to chase 186. Faf du Plessis and Ajinkya Rahane started their innings, but, earlier RPSG lost their most consisten batsman Faf du Plessis. And then the big man Kevin Pietersen came to crease to chase the big target in their home ground. But on the very first ball he faced in the game, KP hurt himself and he couldn’t even walk and was later carried off the ground.
KP explained about his injury and posted a picture on his instagram account with a caption. KP wrote,‘Over & out, India! Injuries are all part of the job! Horrible tear in my calf! Sad to be leaving a really great bunch of boys but looking forward to being back with my family! London bound for a summer off! Vacation till November! Bye for now! Lots of love, KP’
This is a huge blow for RPSG who were already struggling even they have big batting line-up. Allrounders Mitchell Marsh or Albie Morkel may be replace Kevin Pietersen.
