The Amma theatres is to opened in Shenoy Nagar and T. Nagar soon. As a first step, the corporation is planning to redevolop Amma Arangam in Shenoy Nagar as an Amma theatre. The corporation is planning to redevolop Pitti Thyagaraya Arangam in T. Nagar into an Amma theatre too. A final decision on this is expected to be taken on Saturday.
The Amma Arangam is a huge hall with a capacity of 3000 seats and fully air-conditioned. The Pitti Thyagaraya Arangam is also a huge one which is currently rented for public functions. Pitti Thyagaraya Arangam also constructed with a fully air-conditioned.
The estimated cost of Amma arangam in Shenoy Nagar is 17.28 crore. After the development of Amma theatre, it will also be used for some important public functions. The new Amma theatre in Shenoy Nagar could be ordered in a few days.
Ticket Prices:
The entrance fee for the theatres will be decided by the government and will be around Rs 10, 20 and 30. The corporation has identified 3.94 acres of land in Mogappiar East near Padi to buildout the Amma Theatre.
Amma theatres is likely to be construct in other parts of the city soon.
