Rio Olymbics 2016: Indian women shooters Apurvi Chandela, Ayonika Paul fail to make Women’s 10m air rifle final.
Apurvi was placed in the 34th spot with a combined score of 411.6 while Ayonika Paul at 43rd with 407.0 at the Olympic Shooting Centre.
China’s Du Li entered the quarter-finals with a top score of 420.7 while Germany’s Barbara Engleder found the second place with 420.3 and Iran’s Elaheh Ahmadi was third with 417.8.
Apart from top 3 positions, a Russian, a Croatian, two Americans and a Chinese shooter completed the top eight position.
Later in the year, Chandela had won silver in the World Cup Final held in Munich.
Ayonika Paul had won an Olympic quota for India with a silver in the Asian Olympic Qualifying Competition in January.
In the final of 10m air rifle, Virginia Thrasher from US win the first gold medal of Rio Olymbics 2016.
